Tetratec IN600 Plus Filter

Tetratec IN600 Plus Filter

The Tetratec IN600 Plus is a simple to use mechanical and biological aquarium filter, simply stick it to the inside of your tank with the suckers provided making sure it is submersed and turn it on. It has a flow rate dial allowing you to control the amount of water you filtrate per hour and a 180 degree directional nozzle so you can move the flow within the tank. It is able to filtrate between 300 and 600 litres per hour with a power consumption of 8 watts. This makes it an ideal filter for a 50 to 100 litre tank as you need to filtrate the water at least 3.5 times per hour in order for you to have a healthy aquarium. As the IN600 comes with two chambers, to clean it simply turn it off remove both of the two filters in one chamber wash them in used aquarium water and either replace them or put two new filters in. Please note only change one chamber at a time as you need to leave some beneficial bacteria in the system.

Guide to starting out with a new aquarium

When setting up an aquarium we recommend you have a fish tank with a filter system and not just a bowl. Most fish tanks nowadays come with the filter, pump and heater already in them but if they don't all these products can be bought at The Giant Pet Store. If you just buy the fish tank get a pump that will turn over all the water in the tank at least 7 times an hour. For example a Tetratec Air Pump APS400 can move between 200litres to 400litres of water per hour so it is suitable for aquariums up to a 60 litres. If you are hoping to stock tropical fish in your aquarium and it doesn’t come with a heater you also need to buy one. The Tetratec HT range of heaters are reliable and easy to use and come in various sizes to suit the size of your aquarium....

Guide to starting out with a new biorb

The Reef One Biorb’s and Biube’s are complete aquariums that come with filter, pump and media. They are also some of the easiest aquariums to maintain. All of them, except the 30 litre Biorb, come with a light. You must use the ceramic media that is provided with the Biorbs. The ceramic media provides essential biological filtration. Putting normal gravel or sand in the Biorb can block filtration and can become lodged in the filter cartridge casing...
