Makes tap water safe and healthy for fish.

At times it is necessary to add tap water to the aquarium, as part of a water change or a top-up. Tap water is designed for human use, and therefore contains high levels of chlorine and chloramines to kill germs. In addition, it may contain varying levels of toxic heavy metals. These are all dangerous for fish, and must be removed. AquaSafe neutralises harmful elements in tap water, and adds beneficial substances to create healthy, fish-friendly water.

Add AquaSafe to new tap water at a rate of 5ml per 10litres (2gallons), to make it safe prior to adding it to the aquarium. AquaSafe can also be added directly to the aquarium at the same dosage to support the health and condition of the fish. This is especially beneficial when adding new fish, following maintenance, or when treating the fish for a disease.

Guide to starting out with a new aquarium

When setting up an aquarium we recommend you have a fish tank with a filter system and not just a bowl. Most fish tanks nowadays come with the filter, pump and heater already in them but if they don't all these products can be bought at The Giant Pet Store.
